When highly-skilled and well-trained settlers arrive, they attract the attention of host organizations that are in need of competitive workers to improve their productivity and pr ofitability. In the process, the low-skilled and uneducated native employees will be retrenched to create room for the new recruitment. In the US, for example, there are presently over 40 million newcomers, making up close to 17 percent of the workforce (Lewis, 2017). Without a doubt, emigration can cause tension between the native workers and the new settlers.Lastly, emigration affects both the host country in terms of budget deficits, the emigrant in terms of facing discrimination.
